The Series S is a whole-house system, stored out of sight and linked to every room thought a discreet and stylish flush-mount keypad. It allows the same music to be listened in all rooms or to choose a different sound source in each room. It is a matter of an individual choice due to the independent in-wall control modules placed in the different zones. Volume can be adjusted from any zone as well as different audio programs can be selected in each room. The multi-room keypads allow either selection of nine preset radio stations, up to four audio programs or local audio input reproduction like CD or MP3 player.

The most advanced control modules allow even to carry out message calls or simultaneous listening of different ‘baby phones’ for monitoring of children or old people.

And as most recent innovation, the top-ranking S 130 FM control module is able to answer and make telephone calls as well as answer and open the home electronic doorphone by means of domotic interfaces. An extra-flat design remote control unit for this control module is also availble.

Nowadays switchgear designs are gaining more prominence as décor solutions. This is mainly due to bold designs that every time combine more different colours, shapes and materials.

Being aware of this trend, we want to contribute to it. So the DOYSON catalogue shows a great variety of adapters to match the different Series S control keypads to more than thirty six switchgear series of the market.

All DOYSON adapters are available in four basic colours (white, off-white, silver and graphite) so either full integration or creative colour combinations are guaranteed.

Description o a typical multiroom audio system

The core of a Doyson multi-room sound system is a central unit that is generally installed in the living room. It manages the data transmission between the different system components, and allows the connection of different audio sources, like CD player, home cinema, PC Soundblaster, MP3 player, etc.

Besides the central unit, one easy-to-fit flush-mount control module must be installed in each room. Just one run of standard 2x1sq. mm + 6x0,25 sq. mm cable distributes Hi-Fi audio, intercom and power to each room. Junction boxes rightly placed will help to do the different derivations from the main line to the in-wall keypads.

A simple standard speaker cable (right channel and left channel) is enought to connect the wall control modules with the in-ceiling or wall-mount speakers.

Serie S

By using a 25W central unit the system is allowed to power up to a maximum of ten stereo control keypads. If a 60W central unit was used instead, up to twenty stereo control modules would be allowed without any extra power supply. Further addition of in-wall control modules to the multi-room sound system must follow the rule of one extra US 50 power supply unit for each twenty keypads.

Every control module is able to drive two DOYSON 8Ω speakers. If active speakers are used, up to six speakers can be connected to each control keypad. The number of active speakers in the system must be considered when calculating the system power consumption in order to know if extra power supply units or a more powerful central unit must be installed.

It is highly recommended to pre-install a separated trunking for the multi-room audio system, independent from the conduits used for general power, lighting, etc. This will ensure that no alterations affect the audio quality.
